Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical habits for gambling responsibly and explains what this site can and cannot do to support a reader, alongside the help organisations linked throughout the build.

Deciding limits: before starting

Fix an amount before you begin and treat it as the cost of the entertainment, not a loan against future winnings. Deciding in advance removes the moment-by-moment pressure to justify "just a little more," which is where spending tends to drift upward. Never draw on borrowed money for gambling: money you owe elsewhere carries consequences that outlast any single session, so it should never be mixed with money set aside for a bet. If a loss happens, treat it as final rather than something to recover through further play — chasing a loss usually means increasing stakes under pressure, which is the opposite of a controlled decision. Taking a break at set points, rather than playing until you stop yourself, gives you a natural point to check whether you are still comfortable with how the session is going.

Controls that live elsewhere: at destinations

Tools such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are things a person sets up inside an account, and an account only exists at the operator you reach after leaving this site. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch a control on, check whether one is active, or enforce one. Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules apply there and can change without notice. Once an operator link is followed, the destination's own rules, checks and account controls take over — nothing on this page carries any weight from that point on.

  • Nobody's age is verified on this site, and no gambling takes place on it — any age check happens at the destination. The eighteen-and-over restriction is still stated throughout this build, on the front page and at the end of every operator listing.
  • No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on risky play elsewhere.
  • If gambling stops being entertainment, involve someone else early — a partner, friend, or one of the organisations linked below — rather than waiting until the situation feels harder to raise.

Independent help: linked here

Every page of this site, including this one, links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, are set to nofollow, and open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them.
